Before college, before responsibilities, Hadley Beauman and best friend Lily are determined to have a summer to remember. There will be all the usual dramas - ex-boyfriends who don't seem to know what 'ex' means, pesky younger brothers with unrequited crushes, but what Hadley didn't anticipate was the out-of-the-blue return of the seriously hot boy-next-door, Will Carson. The boy who broke her heart when he skipped town two years ago.
Will may have shot up a foot and filled out (oh yes), but inside he carries the weight of guilt - for leaving, for coming back... Now he's just passing through to tie up loose ends but it's clear the old chemistry still crackles between him and Hadley. Trouble is, it's built on two years of lies...
This summer might just be the best time of their lives, but is Hadley ready for everything to change - again?

Who is your favorite character and why?
I both love and hate this question whenever I am asked because who can choose between their babies?! But, I do love the chance to show off my characters so for ‘This Summer’ I’d have to say my favorite character is Will. Through the many versions of this story, Will has always been the enigma. Originally the story had been through Hadley’s point of view, but it wasn’t until my first submitted draft that I split the POVs. To me, Will had a lot to say and I didn’t like how Hadley speculated the entire time about what his situation was. I felt it was only fair to bring the reader in on what Will was hiding and why he was keeping his secrets so close to him. Even though I’ve obviously written male characters in the past, it was something entirely different to write whole chapters from his point of view. It took some research in general for a split POV book, but making Will’s voice stand out from Hadley’s was such a great challenge for me and I am so happy with the result. And I hope you are too!
