Author: Wendy Higgins
Publication Date: August 16th 2016
Publisher: Wendy Higgins

Amber Tate believes the worst thing she’ll suffer in life is dealing with the unrequited love she feels for her brother’s best friend, Rylen Fite. She also believes war is something unfortunate that happens places far, far away from her rural Nevada town. She’s wrong on both counts.
When an unknown organization meticulously bombs major cities in the United States and across the globe, a trickle-down effect spreads to remaining towns at an alarming speed—everything from food and water sources to technology and communications are compromised. Without leadership, the nation is split between paralysis and panic, but Amber isn’t one to hide or watch helplessly. She’s determined to put her nursing skills to use, despite the danger, even if it means working alongside the man she can never have.

In this first installment of NY Times bestselling author, Wendy Higgins’s debut New Adult series, a frighteningly realistic apocalyptic America is brought to life, entwined with searing romantic tension that will leave you eager for more.

IT ENDS WITH US

BY COLLEEN HOOVER

"Colleen Hoover reminds readers that love is a fragile thing, built from courage, hope, and tears. Every person with a heartbeat should read this book."
– Kami Garcia, #1 New York Times bestselling author

27362503Book: It Ends With Us
Author: Colleen Houck
Hardback Edition, 384 pages
Published: August 2nd 2016
Publisher: Atria Books

Lily hasn’t always had it easy, but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up—she graduated from college, moved to Boston, and started her own business. So when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon named Ryle Kincaid, everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true.
Ryle is assertive, stubborn, maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant, and has a total soft spot for Lily. And the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head. But Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing. Even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his “no dating” rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place.
As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her, so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan—her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears, everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.
With this bold and deeply personal novel, Colleen Hoover delivers a heart-wrenching story that breaks exciting new ground for her as a writer. Combining a captivating romance with a cast of all-too-human characters, It Ends With Us is an unforgettable tale of love that comes at the ultimate price.

I LOVED this book! Shout out for the Rodan + Fields mention😉😍. I have never thought much about what it is like for a woman to truly be in love with a man that has physically hurt her. My favorite chapter was the one where Lily gave birth to her daughter. That gave me all the feels...anger, happiness, hope and peace!

Those questions she asked Ryle...heartbreaking! I cried like a baby. I fell in love with Ryle as well and it was so hard to stay mad at him. I seriously loved everything about this book! Colleen Houck is now on my list of favorite authors!!! What an amazing book!! I recommend this book to anyone who loves romance and a beautiful story!!

  Outstanding writing! 5 stars!!

Kismet Book Tours Blog Tour, Interview, & Giveaway: The Gun Runner (Scott Hildreth)

29417323
The first book in a seductive new series from Scott Hildreth, the #1 Amazon bestselling author of BRAWLER and HARD CORPS.

Tripp
Once, I took down terrorists on the front lines as a marine. Now I'm in the business of bad.I've sold guns to people others might not approve of.I've eliminated the criminals, the lowlifes and the thugs who've tread on my turf. And I looked the Sicilian Mafia boss in the eye and told him to f*** off.No one tells me no, unless it's their last word.I didn't just act the part of bad—I lived it. Then she stumbled into my life.I tried to stay away from her. Tried focusing on moving my merchandise. But one smile from Terra was like a shot to the heart. She's mine now. And no one threatens what's mine.
Terra

I've seen a lot of terrible things in my life.I grew up around lies and deception, and I ran away from all of them.Until I met him.I knew he was corrupt. I knew he was dangerous.I should have stayed away, but my attraction to him, my needfor him, overrode my logic. Now I love him.If he finds out who I am, we're done and I'll be nothing.I never wanted to be the Mafia princess they tried to make me, but mia familia had other plans. And what mia familia wants…it gets.Only Michael Tripp can save me.
Tripp and Terra's story continues in Book Two of Mafia Made,The Game Changer.

Born In San Diego California, Scott now calls Wichita, Kansas home. Residing in Kansas with his wife, Jessica, and six children, he somehow finds twelve hours a day to work on his writing.

Addicted to riding his Harley-Davidson, tattoos, and drinking coffee, Scott can generally be found in a tattoo shop, on his Harley, or in a local coffee house when not writing.

Scott is a hybrid author who both self-publishes and conventionally publishes. Look for a three book (mafia erotic romance) series releasing in 2016 through Harlequin Romance.

Loyal to the fans, fan girls, and faithful followers who allowed him to make writing a full-time career, Scott communicates with his followers on Facebook almost daily. He encourages his readers to follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

1. What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

The need for a mafia romance that doesn’t follow the typical pattern of a mafia romance. Filling that void was the only inspiration I needed.

2. Who is your favorite character in the book?

Michael Tripp. No, wait. Cap. Definitely Cap, because he keeps Tripp grounded. Michael is so swoon worthy, though. Can we have a tie??

3. Which came first, the title or the novel?

The title.

4. What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?

The opening scene. It speaks volumes of just how selfless Michael Tripp is.

5. Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you've learned as a writer from then to now?

The importance of having a second (or third) set of eyes on what I believe to be a finished manuscript. The insight an outsider can provide is priceless.

6. What do you like most about the cover of the book?

The monochromatic element.

7. What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2016?

Mine? The Good Boss. Another author’s? Anything CD Reiss writes.

8. What was your favorite book in 2015?

Brittany Cherry’s “The Air He Breathes”

9. What’s up next for you?

A series of books about alpha males who protect the women they love. That’s all I can divulge.

10. Is there anything that you would like to add?

Yes.

11. Which was the most difficult or emotional scene to narrate?

The scene when Tripp defused the bomb was the most emotional for me. I don’t think I took a breath for the hour or so it took me to perfect the scene. In the end, I was a disaster.

12. Which character gave you the most trouble when writing your latest book?

It seemed I argued with Tripp mire than anyone. He’s set in his ways, and my attempts to force him to be anyone other than his genuine self were useless.

13. Which part of the writing process do you enjoy more: Drafting or Revising?

Drafting.

14. What would you say is your superpower?

Creating one of a kind characters. Well, that and assembling a taco.

15. Is there an organization or cause that is close to your heart?

Suicide prevention.

Rockstar Book Tours Blog Tour, Guest Post, & Giveaway: The Bad Decision Playlist (Michael Rubens)

About the Book
Title: THE BAD DECISIONS PLAYLIST
Author: Michael Rubens
Pub. Date: August 2, 2016
Publisher: Clarion Books
Pages: 304
Formats: Hardcover, eBook

Find it: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Goodreads

Austin, 16, a self-described screwup, finds out that his father isn’t dead. He’s alive, and moreover he’s Shane Tyler, a famous singer/guitarist/song writer—Austin’s dream for himself. But Shane is battling his own demons, and Austin must figure out how to grow up on his own terms.

Michael Rubens is the author of The Sheriff of Yrnameer and Sons of the 613. He was a producer for several years for the Emmy- and Peabody-award-winning Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and has written and produced for CNN, Oxygen, the Travel Channel and other networks. It’s theoretically possible that you saw him as the host of Eclipse Chasers: Ghana on the Travel Channel. He was also, for a very brief period, the World’s Least Effective Bouncer. He lives with his wife and daughter in Brooklyn, New York, and feels that the practice of writing one’s bio in the third person is somewhat questionable.
He is represented by John Silbersack at Trident Media Group.

MY TOP FIVE FAVORITE SCENES IN THE BAD DECISIONS PLAYLIST
There are some spoilers here, I guess, but no Oh-My-God-THAT-happens-in-the-book???!!! type spoilers, so I guess these are okay to read even if you haven’t read the book yet.

1. The opening chapter, in which we meet Austin as he is halfway across a lake, ill-advisedly paddling a canoe in a standing position while stoned, a very expensive mandolin that doesn’t belong to him slung across his shoulder. His destination: a beach with some sunbathing girls that he’s hoping to impress – as well as several grumpy hockey players who aren’t exactly excited to see him. It is the first of many bad decisions in the book, and the one that sets everything in motion.

The novel grew out of this chapter, which I wrote with no clear intentions or purpose – as has been the case with each of my first three books, Bad Decisions started as a random scene that popped into my head, and then sort of demanded its own extended narrative: if this person is doing this, why? Who are they? What do they want, where do they live, what are they like? And if they’re this way, doesn’t that mean that there’s another person who must have a certain dynamic with them that’s like this, and then there must be a bad guy/gal, and of course a central challenge...and pretty soon after a lot of sitting there or wandering around with a blank expression on your face, muttering to yourself and dashing off notes, and more muttering and swearing and self-hatred and false starts and false middles and false ends and all that, you have a story.

2. The scene where Austin and Josephine first meet. I’m not sure this is a favorite scene, but it’s certainly one that required the most attention and rewriting. In fact, I rewrote the first several interactions that they have many, many, many...many times. Obsessively. And that doesn’t include the many scenes that I wrote and eliminated, sometimes after having cannibalized elements of them. I wanted to capture the complexity of their personalities and their relationship, to give a sense of why they’d both be cautious and yet still attracted to the other person, the complicated and delicate dance that often occurs when you’re falling in love with someone. I think if I could rewrite all those scenes a few dozen more times I’d almost be satisfied. Or maybe a few more times after that.

3. The scene where Shane, Austin’s father, appears on Austin’s doorstep. Actually, I’m going to cheat: I like this scene, and the scene where Austin goes to find Shane and gets rejected, and then the scene where Shane goes to find Austin and we’re not sure what’s going to happen...so I guess that’s three scenes. Sorry.

4. The scene where Austin climbs on stage with his father and sings in front of an audience for the first time, and Josephine is there to see him. Pure fantasy fulfillment, but with complications to follow.

5. The party at Shane’s house. Austin impulsively decides to invite Josephine to the party – which at first seems like a disastrous move, but becomes a turning point in their relationship (with its own complications to follow).

Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.

So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

Author: Alexandria Sirowy
Hardcover, 387 pages
Publication Date: August 2nd 2016

Publisher:  Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers

Lana used to know what was real.
That was before when her life was small and quiet. Her golden step-brother, Ben, was alive, she could only dream about bonfiring with the populars, their wooded island home was idyllic, she could tell the truth from lies, and Ben’s childhood stories were firmly in her imagination.
Then came after.
After has Lana boldly kissing her crush, jumping into the water from too high up, and living with nerve and mischief. But after also has horrors, deaths that only make sense in fairy tales, and terrors from a past Lana thought long forgotten: Love, blood, and murder.

My love of ensemble casts runs deep. As a kid I watched and re-watched The Goonies and the Princess Bride, their dynamic, indomitable, plucky, and adventurous characters irresistible to me. My favorite book was LITTLE WOMEN, the interplay between the sisters taut and emotional.

Stakes are high in a thriller and there are no higher stakes than fighting to keep the ones you love alive. When I set out to write THE TELLING I wanted to give protagonist Lana friends and family she’d walk into battle for and the book well-developed secondary characters who are indispensable to the plot and enrich the mystery.

I think there’s no better way to introduce THE TELLING and prepare for its August 2nd release then by introducing you to Lana, Ben, Carolynn, Willa, Becca, Josh, Duncan, and Rusty. These eight soon-to-be high school seniors live on Gant Island, a seemingly idyllic place in Washington State’s Puget Sound. It’s summertime and there’s something dark and twisted afoot.
In today’s post you’ll meet four characters; the other four will be introduced tomorrow (7/28) at Chapter by Chapter (http://www.chapter-by-chapter.com/).
Lana

“There’s space between what you see and what I feel. In my experience there’s usually a line that separates what people choose to show the world and what they keep hidden. My small life of before was like that. I was an earthworm dreaming of being a python.” THE TELLING
Rundown: THE TELLING’s protagonist. 17-year-old Lana witnessed her step-brother Ben’s death two month ago. Ever since, she’s been trying to live like Ben did, with nerve and mischief. She’s mustered the courage to hang out with the popular crowd, the kids her peers have called the core since forever, and she’s planning on asking out her longtime crush. She’s determined to find out who – or what – took Ben from her.

Personal Motto: I am a story.
Signature Summer Adventure: Cutting across the harbor in a dinghy, sailing on the Mira, playing scrabble on the terrace – anything, as long as it was with Ben.
Favorite Spot on Gant Island: Swisher Spring on the top of the ridge, toes curling over the edge, getting ready to jump. OR, On the terrace roasting marshmallows at midnight.
Carolynn

“Carolynn Winters is sunning herself below, keeping one bright fish eye on me. She’s dazzling, confident, the kind of girl who never asks twice.” THE TELLING
Rundown: Carolynn’s mom and Lana’s mom were best friends growing up on Gant Island. The memory of their moms’ shared little idioms is all they’ve had in common since Lana’s mom died thirteen years ago. But Lana’s been hanging out with Carolynn’s group this summer and Carolynn’s queen bee act is cracking. They have a lot more in common than either wants to admit. Carolynn is whip-smart, sophisticated, and, when it counts most, the girl you want to have your back.
Personal Motto: Grin, grin, grin until you feel the smile taking root in your belly.
Signature Summer Adventure: Marmalade’s Cafe drinking an iced mocha, whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and chocolate shavings – the sweeter the better.
Favorite Gant Island Spot: The lighthouse on the southern point of the island where she likes to spook her dates with ghost stories.
Duncan

“The boys used to push us off the swings. It was a game – knock the girls on their butts. Not Duncan. If he came up behind you, it was to push you higher. He wanted you to fly.” THE TELLING

Rundown: At first glance, Duncan is all aviators, hair gel, boat shoes, and a cocky attitude. As long as he’s getting girls, he’s happy. But Duncan also takes his two younger brothers for bike rides every Sunday and Carolynn believes there’s more to him. She remembers what he was like when he was little. She blames his dad’s expectations for Duncan’s attitude. And she’s guarding a big secret about Duncan.
Personal Motto: Never without my stunners on.
Signature Summer Adventure: What he’d want you to think: Anything with girls in swimsuits. But really: Mountain biking with his little bros.
Favorite Gant Island Spot: The mountain bike trails that crisscross Gant Island’s forests.
Josh

“I get a whiff of Josh’s freshly laundered shirt. Josh is the kind of boy who eats kale salad at dinner with his moms and has a clean room and laundry folded in his dresser drawers and doesn’t know what it’s like to get picked last. What happens to boys like Josh in jail?” THE TELLING
Rundown: Josh isn’t just a nice guy, he’s the nicest. Lana’s had it bad for Josh since she laid eyes on him in his red corduroy pants the first day of pre-school. This summer has been twelve years in coming; Lana’s dream comes true when Josh strolls up to her at the coffee shop to invite her to a bonfire. He’s been right there helping her grieve her dead step-brother, and he’s right there, close to the danger, when she sets out to solve the mysteries piling up on Gant.

Personal Motto: Nice guys always finish first.
Signature Summer Adventure: Throwing cookouts on the beach for all of his friends.
Favorite Spot on Gant Island: His house – sitting on the kitchen counter eating a freshly baked batch of cookies or throwing a house party while his moms are in Seattle for the weekend.

Two winners will receive a copy of The Telling and SWAG!! (US & Canada)
