I drop onto the couch, leaning against the arm. “Where’s Roh?” I ask as I empty my pockets of the suckers I stole from Hope’s giant candy dish. Choosing a red one, I rip the wrapper free and place it on my tongue. The sweet flavor registers and I make a small appreciative sound. Kellin lowers himself beside me, getting comfortable. “Don’t know. Don’t care.” He grips the end of the sucker stick, surprising me when he tugs it from my mouth and slides it into his own. It takes me a moment to register how incredibly sexy I find this. I realize my mouth is still hanging open and snap it closed. “Well that was rude.” I try for playful, but my voice sounds coarse and breathy because Kellin’s words replay in my head—I’m not hitting on you. Trust me, there’ll be no doubt in your mind when I do that. His eyebrows rise as he grins around the sucker. “You’re right.” He pulls it from his lips, holding it out to me. “Sorry. You can have it back.” There are ten other suckers sitting on the table, three of which are the same exact flavor. I could just as easily take one of those. But I don’t. Right here. This is when I reach my breaking point. I sweep my hair to one shoulder and lean forward, wrapping my mouth around the sucker and gently pulling it from his hand. “Thanks,” I say softly. Kellin swallows, the sound audible in the otherwise quiet room. His tongue skims his bottom lip. His hands curl into fists. “I think I want it back,” he utters. I tilt my head, blinking slowly. “What will you give me for it?”

“I’m glad it was you at the bar tonight Ty,” Jenna says, looking up at me. I glance down at the worn, grey carpet. “I’m glad it was you too. I’ve wanted to talk to you all year.” What am I doing here? I should tell her goodnight and walk away instead of standing here sounding like a teenager at the prom. “Really?” She looks like she’s trying decide if that’s just a line. “Why didn’t you?” I look back down and Jenna bites her bottom lip just slightly in a way that’s both innocent and undeniably sexy. “I just…” I can’t look at her anymore, so I pull my eyes away and stare down the empty hallway. Why haven’t I spoken to her in almost seven months? Because I’ve spent that time becoming someone new and I can’t wreck all of that hard work. Because I’d have to tell her about all of the things that I’ve kept hidden from everyone if we got involved. Because I’d have to be honest with her—and right now I can’t be honest with anyone. “It’s complicated.” “Oh,” she says vaguely and I know she doesn’t understand. How could she? Jenna puts the key in her door. “Do you want to come in for a minute? I’ve got a couple of beers in the fridge.” I glance at my own front door down the hall. I wince. “No.” “A felony? A girlfriend? A baby?” I can’t help but laugh. In light of her guesses, maybe it’s not such a big deal. “No. Nothing like that.” She grabs both of my hands and pulls me to her and every shred of resolve melts away. “Then I don’t care.”

The same eyes from the tabloid were a mere twenty feet from me. Without a single doubt in my mind I was staring directly at the man I had been desperate to forget. Standing with a foot on the street and the other half of his body still in the car, his eyes were undoubtedly locked on me. Shock settled into his features, leaving his lips open enough for a tense breath to escape while his fingers curled around the top of the door. His hair was styled up in the front with the sides cut a little shorter, and I wanted nothing but to wrap my fingers through his thick locks. It didn’t make sense why he was here right now or why he was standing half way out of a car staring at me, but I didn’t care. In this moment I wanted nothing more than to run to him. Throw my arms around him, smack him, hug him, feel his hair and his chest. “Grey…walk!” someone yelled behind me. My legs began walking across the street, but my eyes were locked on Stefan. I was unable to blink as if my life depended on it. “Grey!” I heard again. The sound of another horn approaching made my body jump and my eyes lock onto an oncoming car. I am Megan Noelle! I have been writing for many years and currently have two books out that are part of a series. My For You series were the first novels I published but I had to stop everything to write Stefan and Grey’s story in, A Broken Forever.
