Lola James

Lola is a fool for a love story, a sucker for a cupcake, and let’s not talk about what she’d do for a Klondike bar. She enjoys long walks on the beach and movies that involve chainsaws. By day she's the HR Lady and by nightfall she puts on a cape to become a romance writer.

1. What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

I woke up from a nightmare one night, every detail was so vivid that my heart sped and I shot up. I looked around and the pillow was trying to smother me so I wrote everything down word for word and it became one of Megan’s nightmares.

2. Who is your favorite character in the book?

Emilian. Not only because he’s my dream guy… Ha! I lied it’s because he’s my dream guy. He’s sexy as hell, protective, and not a filthy liar!

3. Which came first, the title or the novel?

The novel. I wrote the damn thing with the title as the date. It morphed to Fate’s Design. I almost didn’t name it that because I wrote a series with Greek mythology involved and didn’t want reads to get confused at first but now I’ve morphed the two worlds.

4. What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?

It is empowering knowing that I have a book on the same platform as Annie Rice and Stephen King. My word can reach foreign counties and engage readers. I am proud that I followed my dream.

5. Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned as a writer from then to now?

The power of a good editor. I didn’t do my homework and had a shoddy editing job that ended up biting me in the butt. I have some dicey reviews because of it.

6. What do you like most about the cover of the book?

I love everything about the cover. It is a scene from the book.

7. What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2013?

For the first time in a long time I was excited for any book but my own to come out, as vain as that might sound. I’ve re-read a lot of books to prevent from the anticipation of a new series. If I did, I’d never write.

8. What was your favorite book in 2012?

The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher.

9. What’s up next for you?

I have another series, The Spellbound Series with a book scheduled to release this later this year called Witch Bound and I’m in the process of writing the third book, Fate Defined in the Trilogy. Next year, I hope to get more books out!

10. Is there anything that you would like to add?

Yes, I first want to thank you for having me, second I want to tell your readers that Fate’s Design is only .99 (http://amzn.to/1g7U6Fd), third the first book I ever released is Free (HYPERLINK), Bound to Remember and lastly as my anniversary gift to the readers I am having a great contest on my blog.
