Eramane (Eramane Trilogy, #1)
In the village of Eludwid, seventeen-year-old Eramane Fahnestock goes about her life, cheerfully disregarding a prophecy made to her parents that she would have a great gift. Not yet wed and beset with boredom, Eramane cannot shake the feeling that something exciting awaits her beyond Eludwid. But when she is invited to picnic with a handsome young suitor, Eramane has no idea that her life will soon change forever.
As Eramane prepares for her date, she is suddenly hypnotized by a strange voice that tells her he will be coming for her that night. Unsettled but determined to press forward, Eramane and her suitor, Lebis, head to the woods to enjoy their picnic. As darkness falls on the forest, however, a beast emerges, transforming their beautiful outing into a terrifying scene. Taken captive and carried away to a mountain hideaway, Eramane finds her memories are soon clouded, even as her family frantically searches for her back home.
In this gripping fantasy tale, evil is summoned to the mountaintop, forcing a young woman to discover her magical gifts and exact revenge against a beast determined to destroy everything she has ever loved.

Frankie Ash
Frankie Ash grew up on the eastern shores of the US, and her Southern accent would rock as a cartoon character voice. Most of her time is spent with her laptop, spinning tales, fabricating worlds, and writing new creatures into existence. But when she’s not playing Dr. Frankenstein with words, she is either reading, absorbing anything sci-fi/fantasy related, or chasing after, and sometimes capturing, things that go bump in the night.
Her debut novel, Eramane (Archway Publishing) is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, IndieBound, and Kobo.

What gave you the inspiration to write this book?
It started with one specific scene in my head. I wrote the scene and that was that, a half page of, well nothing really. Then another idea came, but it had nothing to do with the first one, only that the feeling was there, just dark and haunting. Then I was driving and it occurred to me how I could connect them, and I did! But it ends up that the first scene I wrote didn’t end up in the book.

Who is your favorite character in the book?
I’m so attached to several of the characters, but I’m all about Eramane. She’s the reason I kept writing when I felt I couldn’t anymore.

Which came first, the title or the novel?
The novel. I had another title for it up until five months prior to publication. I wasn’t happy with the original and decided to name it after the MC.

What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?
Ummm…well I really love the scene at the river, when Eramane’s life changes forever. That moment is such a pivotal point and it had to be written a certain way, with a perfect balance of light and dark. I like to think I did that. I rewrote that chapter a gazillion times until I felt a 100% about it. But I also really like the scene in the Gate chamber when they fight Adikiah. I love writing action scenes. Reminds me of the old Batman show, “BAM,” “POW,” “WHACK,” only better!

Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned as a writer from then to now?
I don’t know that I’ve learned the most important thing yet. I’m still pretty green. I find that I learn something paramount each time I write. But if I must choose in order to keep my head I would say that it is important to let it flow. Holding back doesn’t do any good, unless you’re about to blow chunks in a crowded room.

What do you like most about the cover of the book?
The look on Eramane’s face. She looks tough, pissed, like she wants to mess something up all kinds of bad.

What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2014?
I’m not gonna lie, my second book! Straight up. But I pray to the writing gods that George R. R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter gets miraculously released. *Opens Computer Hacking for Dummies*. “Like I said officer, it was mer-ack-a-lus!”

What was your favorite book in 2013?
Right now I’m reading Doctor Sleep. It’s got my love squeezes at the moment.

What’s up next for you?
To keep on writing stories that people enjoy. I’m nearly finished with The Eramane Trilogy which is ahhhhhhh….exciting! I have a few other ideas that are gnawing away at me, so they needs to get writ!
