Nelay never wanted to be queen.

Poised to become the most powerful priestess in Idara, Nelay doesn’t have time to become a pretty bauble for the king. She’s too busy saving her people from the invading army sweeping across her kingdom.
But in defeat after defeat, Nelay begins to realize a bigger power is at play than that wielded by mere mortals. Only she can stand between the cinders of her once-great nation and the vengeance of a goddess.

Summer Queen is the story of Nelay, a powerful priestess that has been told she is to marry the King of her country but all she really wants to do is find her parents and rescue them. She meets up with tribesmen and smugglers and convinces them to help her on her adventure to rescue her parents.

The leader of the tribesmen is named Rycus and he and Nelay begin to have feelings for each other and a beautiful romance builds while all of the action is going on around them.

Summer Queen is a story full of action, adventure, suspense, romance and best of all magic. Nelay is such a strong heroine and learns so much about herself over the course of this story. I truly loved this book and couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next. There is never a dull moment in this book....there is constant action and so many mysteries to uncover.
