Blog Tour & Guest Post: Silver Hollow (Jennifer Silverwood)

Amie Wentworth writes paranormal romances, not because she is looking for a degree in ectoplasm, but because she’s got bills to pay. Ever since her parents’ car crash, she has been led a reclusive life and trusted books more than people. Not even a letter from her long-lost uncle, begging her to visit, gives Amie incentive for anything other than ire – until she is stabbed in an alley and brought back to life by a mysterious stranger.
After crossing the Atlantic to her father’s homeland, Amie is dragged into the very sort of tale she is used to selling. Silver Hollow is a place of ancient traditions and supernatural dangers, where everything is the opposite of what it seems and few escape sane.
To make matters worse, the man who saved her life keeps turning up and her would-be-murderer is still at large. But when she comes face to face with the ugly truth, will she too be sucked into her father’s madness? Or will she discover that madness is just another name for honesty?

I am an artist, musician, author and believer in bigger dreams.I have been to Dracula's castle and lived to tell the tale.I work with children, though by the end of the day it feels more like they worked me lolI know how to properly use a rifle, survive a world of diapers, snotty noses and physical maiming from same children on a daily basis.I'm a Christian and a Texan, you can guess the rest ;)I've never quite fallen out of the habit of dreaming bigger than is healthy and can't seem to stop.

MEET THE CAST
As most of you are new to the story of Silver Hollow, I thought I’d introduce you to our heroine and a few of the main characters you’re about to be spending the rest of this tour with. First, is Amie Wentworth, or as she is later known as, Lady Jessamiene Wenderdowne. Amie is a writer of paranormal fiction, our “twenty-something” protagonist, who learns not everything can be explained away with logic.
She has always had a wild imagination, cultivated by an obsession with novel reading, being an only child who had to do something while her neighboring best friends were off at school. Her father often told her stories of the place he grew up. This mythical and terrifying place became the playground for her dreams ever after.
Her father kept them isolated in the outskirts of a small Kansas town for most of her childhood. For reasons he wouldn’t share with his family, Drustan then moved them to Texas. Amie was ten and very angry at the time, but was somewhat appeased when the twins and their parents came a week after.
Her father home schooled her himself, a rigorous tutelage that consisted of learning to read and write in Latin and Old English, and to speak a language he swore was an older version of modern Celtic Gaelic. She studied history and political science and the ways of the wide world. He carted her around occasionally with the people they met in Dallas, TX. She became well known as Amie Wentworth, much to her annoyance.
What her father did not tell her was her true name was Jessamiene Adeline Nimue Wenderdowne, and her destiny was a lot more complicated than she would have preferred.
I have been called many names, from many lives I can and cannot remember. To the Romans, I was Ambrosius Aurelianus. To the Welsh, a mad poet called Myrddin Wyllt. Before this I was known as Caerfyrddin. To those within the veil I am Myrddin Emrys.”
Myrddin Emrys may hold the answers to Amie's unanswered questions. He is forced to face the demons of his past in order to decide his future. According to him, before he was known as the Bane of the Veil, he lost his first lifetime’s memories while spending a century trapped in prison. Here he was held until he was rescued by Nimue and brought into the valley of Silver Hollow. He vowed to protect her family afterward when she mysteriously disappeared. He swore he would find her again. Never able to stay away from the temptation of power, however, he led them all down a path that would end badly for those on either side of the Veil. As punishment, he is bound to serve the Lord of Wenderdowne, Amie’s uncle, Henry.
Slaine’s nephew and the extra hand in the barn, is Eddie (Dearg) Cutterworthy. Though he appears young, he is one who ages slowly and is actually older than Amie, unbeknownst to her. He rarely speaks and prefers the old tongue that most people in Silver Hollow still use most. He doesn’t trust Henry, although he grudgingly obeys him. Secretly, he’s part of a group that doesn’t want their place ruled by outsiders. But when he watches Amie, he realizes that she is more Sidhe than anything else and comes to respect her for it. Where before he wanted to ruin her belief of the greater good, instead he wonders how he could have thought so lowly of humans.
