The light is darker than you think…
High school student Bobby Pendell already has his hands full—he works almost every night to support his disabled-vet father and gifted little brother. Then he meets the beautiful new girl in town, who just happens to be his boss’s daughter. Bobby has rules about that kind of thing. Nothing matters more than keeping his job.

When Bobby starts to get blinding migraines that come with scary, violent hallucinations, his livelihood is on the line. Soon, he must face the stunning possibility that the visions of murder are actually real. With his world going dark, Bobby is set on the trail of the serial killer terrorizing his small town. With everyone else convinced he’s the prime suspect, Bobby realizes that he, or the girl he loves, might be killer's next victim.

Lisa Amowitz was born in Queens and raised in the wilds of Long Island, New York where she climbed trees, thought small creatures lived under rocks and studied ant hills. And drew. A lot.Lisa has been a professor of graphic design at Bronx Community College where she has been tormenting and cajoling students for nearly eighteen years. She started writing eight years ago because she wanted something to illustrate, but somehow, instead ended up writing YA. Probably because her mind is too dark and twisted for small children.BREAKING GLASS which was released July 9, 2013 from Spencer Hill Press, is her first published work. VISION, the first of the Finder series will be released in 2014 along with an unnamed sequel in the following year. LIFE AND BETH will also be released in the near future. So stay tuned because Lisa is very hyper and has to create stuff to stay alive.Lisa has been a professor of graphic design at Bronx Community College where she has been tormenting and cajoling students for nearly eighteen years. Who is your favorite character and why?

I would have to say the main character of Vision, Bobby Pendell, is my favorite character in this book, hands down. People had said that in my last book, Breaking Glass, my characters were, shall we say, a bit hard to like? Jeremy Glass, from Breaking Glass, is what you’d call an unreliable narrator—someone whose memory and possibly, sanity are a bit in question. The book flips between past and present, juxtaposing Jeremy’ current take on things against the way they actually transpired. It becomes clear as the book rolls along, that Jeremy may have gotten things kind of mixed up. But don’t get me wrong. I love Jeremy, even though I’d often wanted to sock him in the nose. He’s not a person who makes it easy on those around him by any means. But he certainly made me laugh. And cry a little, too.

Bobby Pendell could not be more different. He’s is a hard-working, struggling country kid who doesn’t have time for his own dreams. He’s so numb from just trying to protect his little brother from his screwed up war veteran dad, he’s given up on hope for himself. He lives from day to day, his only relief to be found on his beloved lake, or when he loses himself playing guitar and singing along.

But it’s how Bobby handles the trouble life throws at him that makes me love him even more. Stubbornly independent, Bobby’s first concern is not to let anyone down. On the other hand, I love the times he overcomes his native shyness and lets a few choice insults fly. To me, Bobby is the kind of kid you root for—the kind of kid none of us want to see get trodden under by misfortune and poverty.
