The #1 New York Times bestselling author and the Edgar Award winning author are back with a new a new novel featuring Kendra Michaels—hired gun for both the CIA and FBI
A deadly multi-vehicle pile-up on San Diego’s historic Cabrillo bridge is thought of as a horrific accident–until Kendra Michaels arrives on the scene and perceives it as something much more sinister. Blind for decades and now sighted, Kendra's unusual skill for observation is highly sought after by both the FBI and CIA. Now her amazing conclusions open up a multi-jurisdictional investigation that once again teams her with the FBI and federal agent Adam Kyle as they investigate a conspiracy so explosive that someone will kill again and again to protect it. As the killer casts a deadly web of lies, Kendra’s life hangs in the balance, as do the lives of those she holds most dear.

Iris Johansen
Iris Johansen began writing after her children left home for college. She first achieved success in the early 1980s writing category romances. In 1991, Johansen began writing suspense historical romance novels, starting with the publication of The Wind Dancer. In 1996 Johansen switched genres, turning to crime fiction, with which she has had great success. She had seventeen consecutive New York Times bestsellers as of November 2006.

The screenplay was later produced for cable television and starred Pierce Brosnan. The "Murder 101" script was awarded the Edgar Allen Poe award from the Mystery Writers of America in the Best Television Miniseries or Movie category.

"Choking..Must fight...
No air.
Must break free...
He felt his attacker's hot breath in his ear.
Darkness creeping over him....
It wasn't just breath, he realized as the darkness overtook him.
It was his killer's laughter."

AH! I love Iris Johansen! Every story she writes is so full of intense action and suspense!! I received an ARC of this book, Sight Unseen and couldn't wait to get started!! The action begins immediately from the first turn of the page. I mean, the first sentence of the book is: " Damn, she is going to kill him."

It was here again, taking her breath, assaulting her."

The reader is brought back into the life of Kendra Michaels. Kendra has been blind most of her life and recently underwent surgery to regain her sight. Because she has lived most of her life blind she has used her other senses to compensate for her missing eyesight. She has super-heightened senses and therefore notices things that a normal person wouldn't.

When an apparent car accident happens on the freeway Kendra immediately notices that the accident is no accident. She rushes to the crime scene and informs the police of her discovery. Kendra also begins to notice that the crimes that are being committed are eerily similar to cases she has solved in the past. Kendra teams up with an old friend, Adam Kyle, from the FBI and together they try to determine who is behind these murders.

Sight Unseen is full of non-stop action, drama, and suspense! Each chapter holds a new twist to this already fascinating story!! Kendra is forced to face one of her old enemies and everyone she loves is in jeopardy!! If you love a good suspense story with some romance interwoven into the story then Sight Unseen is a perfect fit!! I really enjoyed and look forward to what happens next with Kendra!!

Praise for Sight Unseen:

"The Johansens do a page-turning job of tying up all the loose ends in this complex cat-and-mouse game..."

"Clever and terrifying... the reader's heart will be racing the entire time..."

  1. I love this kind of books because they have everything you need to make it interesting, it has action, emotion and there are a lot of accidents that certainly seem unnecessary.
