Hunted by Ednah Walters
Bran and Lil may have escaped an attempt to lure Lil to the dark side, and recovered the contracts damned people signed with Bran when he was a soul collector, but someone forgot to tell them that no one switches sides or cancels contracts without consequences.
Hunted by an unknown but powerful enemy, Lil, Bran and the Guardians must seek help from unlikely sources to avert total annihilation of the Guardians. When they finally face their enemy, one of them may have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Author Ednah Walters
I grew up reading Nancy Drew and Hardy boys mysteries, hence Stratemeyer influence, before I graduated to Mills & Boons (starting with Janet Daily’s Shutter the Sky) and the rest is history.
I enjoy good love stories, tingly mysteries and wondrous adventures. When I finished my college and decided to be a stay-at-home mother, I devoured books like they were going out of production, until reading just wasn’t enough. So I started to write.
I’ve written picture books, contemporary and romantic suspense, biracial/multicultural books, and finally YA fantasy. Awakened is the first book in The Guardian Legacy series. I’m working on book 2, tentatively named Betrayed. When I’m not writing, I do things with my family, five children or my darling husband of 18 years. I live in a picturesque valley in Utah, the setting for my series.

1. What gave you the inspiration to write this book? I found a short story I wrote when I was 8 while cleaning out our garage with the same title, and it stuck with me.
2. Who is your favorite character in the book? That’s tough. Throg and Nick Casey remind me of me a little. Shelby and Zach. Geez, I can’t really answer that lol!
3. Which came first, the title or the novel? Well, since it was based on a short I wrote when I was a kid, I think I remember thinking of the title back then.
4. What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why? There is a scene about an entertainment village on Azimuth called Vixen. I just had fun writing it.
5. Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned as a writer from then to now? I learned a lot about style and prose through the editing. But you need to just sit down and write, so you can rewrite.
6. What do you like most about the cover of the book? My cover artist captured what my protagonist Shelby looks like in my head, and I get lots of compliments on it. Mallory Rock is really an awesome designer.
7. What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2013? That’s tough. Right now I am catching up and reading my Evolved Publishing’s comrades titles so that will keep me busy for a bit.
8. What was your favorite book in 2012? I wrote a lot in 2012, read Sol Stein and books like that to keep me focused, and a few of my publisher’s titles. I don’t look at the new releases so much because I have a backlog piled up I want to read. I finished the Bartimaeus series in 2012 and really enjoyed it.
9. What’s up next for you? I’m currently writing the sequel, the Sinister Kin.
10. Is there anything that you would like to add? I really had a great time working with Mallory Rock on my book trailers. We did a main one, and then some character spotlights. One of my best friends is the lead singer of Candlebox and he let me use their catalogue for music on the trailers. You can see them on my site: http://thesilversphere.org/ trailers/
