About the Author:

N. Dunham is the author of the Visionary Trilogy~ A young adult fantasy series that incorporates psychic phenomena & spirit animals!
N. Dunham's interest in reading and writing didn't come until early adulthood. She enjoys works of many genres and has a passion for the arts.
VISIONARY-UNLEASHED was inspired by New England's natural beauty and wildlife (especially red-tailed hawks).

1. What gave you the inspiration to write this book?

As a teen, I didn’t read much at all. I started to read a lot more as a young adult and discovered that I love books, all kinds of books. This led me to think about what kinds of books I might enjoy. I started having many ideas, but never had enough time to put the pen to paper. Last year, when I started writing, the time just worked out. I started writing late at night when the house was quiet and my ideas were able to flow.

2. Who is your favorite character in the book?

I really enjoyed writing about the protagonist, Aislinn Lee Murphy. It was fun to write about how she would react to receiving this miraculous gift to see future events.

3. Which came first, the title or the novel?

The novel came first. Halfway into the novel I chose a previous title, “The Gift” but “Visionary” bumped that title to the road.

4. What scene in the book are you most proud of, and why?

The ending in the book is where a lot of things start to make sense and open up for the second book. It was the most fun for me to create!

5. Thinking way back to the beginning, what’s the most important thing you’ve learned as a writer from then to now?

That there is always more to learn.

6. What do you like most about the cover of the book?

I like the picture of the solitary red-tailed hawk. It doesn’t give away too much and I love the way that it looks like the hawk is staring right at you.

7. What new release book are you looking most forward to in 2013?

I would like to read the third book in the Divergent series.

8. What was your favorite book in 2012?

If I had to pick just one for that year it would probably be Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

9. What’s up next for you?

I am currently working on book 2 in the Visionary Trilogy and I hope to have it released by the end of this summer!

10. Is there anything that you would like to add?

    1. This book is fiction- but I have tried to incorporate actual facts about specific animals and their traits into the book. Many cultures, Shamanism etc., believe in animals as spirit totems. Hopefully, you will enjoy it- check out my website www.ndunham.com to see your spirit animal:)
      Warmly,
